Inter-Faith University Prayer Day 2021

The University Chaplaincy has organized an Inter-Faith University Prayer Day to commit the University Community and all planned activities for the year 2021 into God’s hands. This is also a day set aside for giving thanks to God and seeking for His continued blessings and protection to the University community.

2 honorary degrees, 5709 graduates at the 64th graduation ceremony

The Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi has conferred honorary degrees of the University of Nairobi on Prof. Julia Ojiambo, Chair of Council and Prof. Micere Mugo at the 64th Graduation Ceremony. The two have now joined the list of eminent persons who have received the prestigious award bringing the number of honorary degree holders of the University of Nairobi to 35. In addition, a record 5,709 have been conferred degrees and awarded diplomas at the graduation ceremony held on December 11, 2020 at the Great Court, Main Campus.

Commemoration of World AIDS Day 2020

The global commemoration of the World AIDS Day is on December 1, 2020. The day is dedicated to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and is in remembrance of those who have lost their lives to complications of HIV.

The University of Nairobi will hold a virtual event on December 1, 2020 from 9.00 AM to 11.00AM. The chief guest is the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama.

The Fountain of Knowledge: An Icon to Behold

 

You walk in through the gate, past the cobbled walkway, past the stone slab, and then bang, you locate it quite accidentally. This is the Fountain, tucked away to the side.

The dribble of water, iridescent in the sun’s rays catch your attention, and the old stone bench beckons you to take a seat, to rest, to savor the pleasure of the fountain.

UoN to host Nanosatelite Development Research Chair

 

The University of Nairobi has been selected to host the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) Chair on Nanosatelite Development. UoN is among five other universities selected for this award which is to the tune of Kshs. 1 million for the duration of one year. The Research Chair will catalyze and promote research in Space Science and Technology.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama welcomes over 10,000 new students

The University of Nairobi has welcomed over 10,000 new students for the Academic Year 2020/21.

The new students have been admitted to the six UoN Colleges and the ODeL Campus. This admission process is an important milestone in the history of the University of Nairobi as it is the first time that the institution has conducted end to end academic processes using online platforms.
