University of Nairobi Commemorates the World Health Day

The University of Nairobi Commemorated the World Health Day in tandem with the Annual
UoN Health Awareness Day on Wednesday, 05 th April 2022, at the Chancellor’s Court. The
event, held under the theme “Health for All,” featured a free medical camp open both to the
public and university fraternity. Students, staff, and members of the public flocked to the
event and received free health services, including medical tests and consultations.  
A team of experts from the University Healthcare Services (UHS), in collaboration with
partners such as Aga Khan University Hospital, Karen Hospital, MP Shah Hospital, Avenue
HealthCare Centre, AAR Hospital, Mater Misericordiae Hospital, St. Mary’s Mission
Hospital, Mediheal Group of Hospitals, EquityAfia, Baus Optical, Optica Limited, Chem-
Labs Limited, Symbio Healthcare Limited, Highridge Pharmaceuticals Limited,
Sciencescope Limited, Dawa Life Sciences, RADA app, and O3Plus joined hand to offer
health screening for various cancers such as breast and cervical. The team also conducted
blood sugar and blood pressure testing, eye examination, cardio-vascular evaluation,
alcohol and drug abuse awareness, reproductive health awareness, VCT and counseling.
The University of Nairobi prides itself in advancing public health through involvement in
activities and programs that advance health services provision and awareness creation.
