The Ministry of Health through the Unit of Vaccines and Immunization (UVIS), supported by World Health Organization, UNICEF and other partners will introduce Rotavirus Vaccine in the national infant routine immunization schedule as from 1st July 2014.
Rotavirus vaccine will be offered to all children 6 weeks old in two oral doses with the first dose given at 6 weeks and the second dose given at 10 weeks. Rotavirus vaccine protects children from diarrhea - a major cause of hospitalization and death.
This vaccine is safe and effective even when administered together with other vaccines. The vaccine will be offered in all public health facilities free of charge.
Ensure you get your child vaccinated with Rotavirus vaccine and protect him/her from diarrhea.
